Frequently asked questions
Which airport should I fly into?
Managua (MGA), Nicaragua's international airport, about two hours' drive away. Liberia (LIR) in Costa Rica is about three hours away, but crossing the Peñas Blancas border can take time.
Can you pick me up at the airport?
Yes. We offer transfers from Managua airport in our air-conditioned van for an additional fee. Write to frontdesk@villasdepalermo.com with your flight details.
Do I need a visa for Nicaragua?
Visitors from North America and Europe don't need a visa, but buy a tourist card on arrival: US$10 per person, valid for 90 days. Bring exact change.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 2:30 pm and check-out is by 11:30 am.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, small dogs are welcome for US$30 per stay.
How many people fit in a villa?
Each villa has two bedrooms with a queen bed each, for 4 guests. With extra beds (US$35 per night each) up to 6.
What is the deposit and cancellation policy?
We ask for a 50% deposit to confirm. You can cancel up to 24 hours before arrival; after that there is no refund, but you can reschedule.
What is the weather like?
Warm all year: days average 86–91°F (30–33°C) and nights 69–75°F (21–24°C). Rainfall is seasonal.
Is there a wheelchair-accessible villa?

Can I eat at the restaurant if I'm not staying?
Yes. Terraza de Palermo is open to visitors every day from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, and day passes are available.
